Life is set before us every day as a choice. Contrary to what is often advertised on bumper stickers Life does not just happen. Life is an experiential choice. We must choose to have life and when we don’t make the choice we are accepting by default to live without Life. This is more than a play on words, it is intended to express that it is possible to be alive but not experience the essence and purpose of Life.
Choice forces us to make a selection between to opposing options. We must choose between Life and death. Death is the absence of Life. Death is life-less. Death is a symbol of loss. Death is disconnected from all things that are living. When we fail to choose life, by default we have selected the loss of personal worth and value which makes us feel disconnected from the very source of Life that is available to us.
Life and death are both choices, neither is forced upon us. We must live with the choice we make. If you are not content with the results that have left you life-less and less-valued, the good news is that you can make a new choice, -starting right now! Change your choice and get your Life back. Change your choice and get your worth and value back. Change your choice so that you can re-connect to the Life source that is available to you.
God did not force His blessing upon His chosen people who were rescued from bondage. Before they would enter into the land of promise He set before them a choice of Life and death and challenged them to choose. In Deuteronomy 30:19, God tells them to choose Life! God is responsible for setting Life and His blessing before us; we are responsible for making the choice. Choose Life!
